Alex, was a beautiful young man, described by many to possess a golden heart. I can attest to that. Alex was loving, supportive, generous, kind, and a fun guy to spend time with. His sense of humor was quick and sharp. No doubt though, he was tough. His life wasn't easy. He made bad decisions as a teen, but we worked hard to erase them. We had laid out a new life plan, and he was on it!
Alex is a victim of fentanyl homicide. Some are amongst the depths of addiction, and some are different. Every fentanyl poisoning involves a criminal tier, and all in the distribution channel are guilty. Few are held accountable.
Some poisonings involve intent. Almost none are held accountable. That's where we are.
Alex did not choose to die in the middle of the night, while sleeping. The entire system failed him, from the Medical Examiner to the Sheriff's office, and a documented referral to follow up with investigation. Evidence glaring, they failed. There was no investigation.
My mission for justice. To right the wrongs! It is 2026, and I have accepted that my effort will never find justice for Alex, but hopefully my Angel and me can find it for others.
